A tough and hard-nosed lead guard, Strange has proven his ability impact games on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he is an attacking dribble drive guard, who goes hard to the rim and passes well off the dribble. He also has a much more consistent three-point shot when left unchecked. Defensively, he is a good on-the-ball defender who gets his nose on the ball and understands how to physically pressure the ball-handler without falling. Strange is a powerful point guard with good core strength in both his upper and lower body.
Although Strange has a strong body, he faces other physical challenges. Not only is he undersized for the next level but he also has fairly short arms which cause him problems when attempting to make plays in congestion. While his jump shot is improved, Strange is a volume shooter who begins to spray shots when given fewer reps. While he has a strong handle, he tends to be sped up by pressure and can struggle to simultaneously handle the ball against pressure and get the team into their stuff.
A bulldog lead guard who is valuable because of his ability to make plays off the bounce, defend the ball, and provide toughness, Strange still has some noticeable physical deficiencies in his game.
