Wachusett's Bri Schnare commits to Manhattan

By Brendan Hall

Wachusett Regional forward Bri Schnare has verbally committed to Manhattan College for the fall of 2012, her mother Shirley wrote in an email to ESPNBoston.com this morning.

The 6-foot-2 forward turned in a stellar junior season for the 15-6 Mountaineers this past winter, averaging 12.2 points, eight rebounds and four blocks per game and earning a Mid-Wach A All-Star nod. She was also named to ESPNBoston's inaugural MIAA All-State Team.

Schnare was scheduled to meet with both the Jaspers and Fordham next week, but the former pushed up their meeting a week, and offered her a scholarship last weekend. At the time of her commitment, Schnare was also fielding interest from New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Colgate, Brown and Holy Cross.
