BABC wins EYBL Championship
By Brendan Hall
The Boston Amateur Basketball Club defeated the Memphis YOMCA, 84-67, to capture the Nike EYBL Championship at the Peach Jam in North Augusta, S.C.
Jaylen Brantley led all scorers with 24 points for the BABC, while center Nerlens Noel, the No. 3 junior in the country, had 17 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks. In the semifinal earlier today against the Oakland Soliders, Noel notched a triple-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 11 blocks. Forward and Iowa State commit Georges Niang also added 21 points.
This is the BABC's first title at the Peach Jam, after making eight finals appearances in 16 years.
"It's a great feeling bring one back to Boston," Niang told ESPN's Paul Biancardi following the game. "There's a lot of great alumni of the BABC, and it's an honor to bring this back home to Boston. We all believe Boston is the city of champions, baby."
