BC High hockey junior forward Patrick Kramer committed to Merrimack College today, Eagles head coach John Flaherty confirmed to ESPN Boston.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound center leads the Eagles in points (4-12-16) through seven games and is a plus-17. Kramer also plays for the Cape Cod Whalers U16 midget team.

The news of Kramer's commitment was first reported by Mike McMahon of College Hockey News.

"He has skill with grit and a willingness to work hard," Flaherty said. "I think what you've seen from him this year is that he's added another dimension to his game, in that he was looked primarily as a goal-scorer, but this year, he has 14 assists, so he's definitely shown a different dimension of his game."

The Bridgewater native and 1997 birthdate finished second in points for BC High as a sophmore last year.

It is expected that Kramer will join the Warriors for the 2016-17 season, but has yet to be determined.

"He stepped right in and played a significant role for us last season, playing on the top line and playing a lot of minutes for us," Flaherty said of the Eagles' Super 8 campaign. "He shows a great touch around the net. He can pucks away. It's not something you can teach, it's either something you have or you don't have. And I think Pat's a kid that has it, he showed it last year."
