Here are my top performers from the first night of MIAA basketball state tournament action:
1. Tyree Robinson, Jr. F, Durfee
Registered 28 points, nine rebounds and seven blocks in the Hilltoppers' 67-63 Division 1 South preliminary round win over Bridgewater-Raynham, the program's first playoff win since 2009.
2. Brendan Kittredge, Jr. G, Clinton
Finished the night with 31 points as the Gaels cruised by Oxford, 88-56, in a Division 3 Central First Round matchup.
3. Cara Walker, Fr. G, Lee
Only has five points, but still qualified for a double-double with 14 rebounds and 10 steals in a 60-21 rout of North Brookfield in Division 4 West First Round action.
4. Nyanna Slaughter, Sr. F, Taconic
Came down with 20 points and 14 boards, nearly outscoring Springfield Commerce by herself as they easily won 66-21 in D3 West First Round action.
5. Maddie Jolin, Jr. G, Bishop Feehan
Registered 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists in the Shamrocks' 87-61 D2 South First Round win over Wellesley, and topped it off with a commitment to Providence.
6. Dave Harrison, Sr. G, Weymouth
Scored 23 points as the Wildcats upset Attleboro, 55-44, to set up a D1 South First Round rematch with Mansfield -- the very team they had to upset just to get into this tournament.
7. K.C. Cunningham, Jr. G, Worcester South
Racked up 17 points, nine rebounds and eight assists as the Colonels beat Acton-Boxborough, 65-49, in D1 Central First Round action.
8. Colby Andrews, Jr. F, Melrose
Scored 29 points in the Red Raiders' 66-59 loss to Woburn in the Divsion 2 North First Round.
9. Youssef Fodaile, Sr. F, Doherty
Came up with 28 points in a losing effort for the Highlanders, who succumbed to Lincoln-Sudbury 66-52 in D1 Central First Round action.
10. Mustapha Koroma, Sr. F, Lowell Catholic
Put up a double-double (23 points, 10 rebounds) in a 72-53 win over Notre Dame (Lawrence) in D4 North First Round action.
