The honors continue to roll in for Lawrence Academy righthander Tyler Beede. A week and a half after being named ESPNBoston.com's inaugural Mr. Baseball, and a month after getting selected 21st overall by the Blue Jays, he has been named to the first team of ESPN RISE's Baseball All-American team.

Beede was one of nine pitchers selected to the 30-man first team, and was the only New Englander on the roster. RISE justified the pick as follows:

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound right-hander capped an unbeaten prep season before being chosen in the first-round of the recent MLB draft by the Toronto Blue Jays. A Vanderbilt recruit, he was 8-0 this season with 102 strikeouts and only eight walks while allowing 13 hits in 51 innings. His ERA was 0.69.

The complete roster can be found here.

Meanwhile, negotiations between the Jays and Beede's camp should start in a few weeks. Beede flew out to Toronto by himself last week to meet with the front office and manager John Farrell, undergo a routine physical and work out for the team. Beede also visited the team before their game Tuesday against the Red Sox at Fenway Park. He hasn't thrown since his last start of the high school season on May 25, but will start long-tossing later this summer.
