November, 21, 2013
After its annual Thanksgiving Day rivalry game against was canceled as Lunenburg forfeited the remainder of its schedule, St. Bernard's football has picked up a pre-holiday game against Boston Cathedral, athletic director Jim Beauregard told ESPN Boston this morning.

The Saints will host Cathedral on Saturday in a 4 p.m. kickoff at the Bernardian Bowl.

"Cathedral has a Thanksgiving opponent [Marian H.S.]," Beauregard wrote in an email. "They have graciously offered to play us to allow for our seniors to experience their last high school game. They could only play on Saturday so that they would be in compliance with the MIAA rule regarding games in a week."
On Wednesday, Feb. 8, Groton-Dunstable hockey will pay tribute to fallen Marine William Joseph Woitowicz in its Coughlin Conference game against the Lunenburg/Ayer co-op squad to be played at the Groton School Rink. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Woitowicz, 22, a G-D alum, was killed during the summer while serving in Afghanistan. All proceeds from the game will go toward the William Joseph Woitowicz Memorial Fund. All military personnel dressed in uniform will be allowed to watch the game free of charge. In addition, a raffle for various prizes will beheld with all proceeds going to the Memorial fund, along with all concession sales.

As a matter of note, the Crusaders have been tearing up Div. 3A, starting the 12-0-0 with a state-best +69 goal differential (77 GF, 8 GA), so get out there and support one the state's best teams and a great cause.
