Weymouth hockey head coach Matt Cataldo will not return to his position next season, he confirmed on Saturday in an email.
Cataldo, who took over the Wildcats program in 2007, cited a new job and the birth of his daughter in April as motivating factors behind the decision.
"Right now, my priorities have changed," Cataldo wrote in his email, "and I am doing what is best for my family."
Among the highlights of his five seasons behind the Weymouth bench, Cataldo led the Wildcats to a Division 1 South finals appearance in 2010 and a Super 8 tournament berth in 2010-11. The Wildcats played in the Super 8 crossover round that year before bowing out to St. John's Prep.
Cataldo assumed the head coaching duties from Bob Donovan, after serving as an assistant on his staff.
