AUBURN, Mass. -- Preseason ESPN Boston Mr. Football candidate Mark Wright kicked off his season in fine fashion, lifting No. 21 Auburn to a 16-14 win over Chicopee Comprehensive on Friday.
Wright, behind the Rockets' offensive line, blasted off for 304 yards on 34 carries with two touchdowns in the victory and, as a result, was named our Player of the Week for Week 1. ESPN Boston High Schools editor Brendan Hall caught up with Wright on Monday for this interview:
