Matignon hires DelVecchio as softball coach


This afternoon, Matignon announced the hiring of former Cambridge coach Paul DelVecchio as its new head coach for softball.

Per Athletic Director Tim Alberts, here is the school's official release:

CAMBRIDGE -- Matignon High School has announced Paul DelVecchio as its next Head Coach for Varsity Softball. DelVecchio most recently coached at Cambridge Rindge & Latin School from 2000-2013 as the school’s Head Varsity Coach. During DelVecchio’s tenure at CRLS, his program made the MIAA Division 1 State Tournament for the first time in school history and advanced to two Div. 1 North Semi-finals under his leadership. DelVecchio, a Cambridge resident, has been involved in the Cambridge Girls Youth Softball League since 1993 serving on the Board of Directors as well as the Vice President and President roles.

“We are thrilled to have Paul DelVecchio as a member of the Matignon coaching staff. Paul has been dedicated and committed to the game of softball in the City of Cambridge and his positive coaching is exactly what we want for our student-athletes”, said Tim Alberts, Matignon Athletic Director.
