The Las Vegas Sun reported yesterday that Notre Dame Prep forward Grandy Glaze has requested a release from the letter of intent he signed with UNLV.
Glaze, a native of Brampton, Ont., inked with the Rebels and former head coach Lon Kruger. Kruger left to take the Oklahoma job earlier this month.
"I think he just thought about it, regarding the coaches that recruited him originally, and he's pretty close to them and they left," his AAU coach Mike George told the paper. "The new coach hasn't had a chance to see him, so it might be better to move on, go through it all again. I think he just wants to open it up, make sure he's comfortable with the coaches in place."
George went on to say that Glaze would still consider the Rebels and new head coach Dave Rice. The paper also reported that Rice would grant his request and release him.
