Medfield's Bissell chooses Williams

Medfield rising senior lacrosse midfielder and faceoff specialist Brian Bissell has committed to the admissions process at Williams, as was announced via the program's official Twitter account.

Bissell squared off at the X against some of the state's finest last season for the MIAA Division 2 Eastern Mass. champion Warriors, and with good success. He finished second on the team in ground balls with 75, while winning close to 75 percent of his faceoffs taken.

Bissell was a first-team Tri-Valley League All-Star last season. His older brother, Jack, currently attends Williams.

St. Seb's football pair give commitments

A pair of St. Sebastian's football standouts gave their commitments to a pair of local colleges for next season.

Senior receiver and defensive back Kendall Dardy-Jones will head to Assumption, after being named to the ESPN Boston Prep Football All-State team, while senior lineman Patrick McLaughlin announced last week that he will play at Williams.

Last season, Dardy-Jones had 47 catches for one touchdown and one interception for the Arrows. McLaughlin finished the campaign with 22 tackles, along with three sacks and one interception.

Two more local NESCAC lacrosse commitments

It's been a busy summer of local lacrosse recruits headed to NESCAC schools and there's news of two more commitments to pass along.

On Friday, Medfield rising senior Connor Roddy announced his commitment to join Williams' class of 2012 via the Laxachusetts Minutemen club. He joins Wellesley's Peter Crane and Middlesex School's Bryson Gilbert-Bono as recent additions to the Ephs.

Also, ESPN Boston correspondant Ryan Kilian reports via his New England Prep Stars website that former Concord-Carlisle standout Seth Bird will spend a postgraduate year at Northfield Mount Hermon before joining Trinity College in 2012.
