Of all the NFL scores Sunday, perhaps the most surprising was this one: Bills 31, Dolphins 14.

So on a day in which the Patriots didn't play, their position in the AFC East was strengthened. The standings now look like this:

Patriots 7-3
Dolphins 5-6
Jets 5-6
Bills 4-7

With a win Monday night, the Patriots can take a commanding three-game lead with five games to play and be in position to bury the Dolphins the following week.

All in all, it was a productive day from the Patriots' perspective.
