Patriots a heavy shotgun team

Through 12 weeks of the NFL season, the Patriots have attempted more shotgun passes than any team in the NFL, according to ESPN Stats and Information tracking.

Quarterback Tom Brady is 211 of 317 for 2,259 yards, with 15 touchdowns and 5 interceptions out of the 'gun.

The 317 shotgun pass attempts outdistance Colts quarterback Peyton Manning (302) for the top spot. Brady and Manning are the only quarterbacks with more than 300 pass attempts out of the shotgun.
