Three up, three down

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- A look at who’s up and who’s down from the Patriots’ 22-21 loss to the Dolphins:

Up

No. 1 star: Wes Welker -- Receiver continues his terrific play, finishing with 10 catches for 167 yards.

No. 2 star: Chris Hanson -- Finishes with five punts for a 50-yard average and 40.2-yard net, with his top effort a 51-yarder at the end of the third quarter that pins the Dolphins at their 3.

No. 3 star: Sam Aiken -- Receiver’s 81-yard touchdown catch-and-run in the third quarter is one of the highlight-reel plays of the season.

Down

Derrick Burgess -- Acquired to help boost the team’s pass rush, he doesn’t deliver on a day in which the Dolphins throw 52 times and face little pressure.

Jonathan Wilhite -- Cornerback’s struggles continue as he picks up a 37-yard pass interference penalty in the third quarter that leads to a field goal.

Tom Brady -- He shows a lot of mental toughness to play through pain, but his fourth-quarter end-zone interception to Randy Moss is a dagger that is uncharacteristic.
