False starts most common penalty

The Patriots had four accepted penalties Sunday against the Panthers, upping their season total to 69.

The breakdown: Sammy Morris (special teams holding), Randy Moss (false start), Gary Guyton (neutral zone infraction) and an illegal formation assessed to the team (probably to be later assigned to Chris Baker or Mark LeVoir).

The Patriots also had a defensive holding penalty on James Sanders declined.
