FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- A few points of note from Wednesday at Gillette Stadium:
1. Tom Brady talked about how the Jaguars, under first-year defensive coordinator Mel Tucker, play a different style than they have in the past. Two areas stood out to Brady: They are about a 50-percent blitz team and they have incorporated some 3-4 alignments into their scheme, which has traditionally been a 4-3.
2. Coach Bill Belichick indicated that this would be a major challenge for the team's interior offensive linemen -- left guard Logan Mankins, center Dan Koppen and right guards Dan Connolly and Stephen Neal. "They have some big, physical players inside, and they get a lot of pass rush up the middle," Belichick said. "I'd say they're probably as good as any team we've played rushing up the middle."
3. Asked to reflect on his 2009 season, in which he was coming back from his serious knee injury, Brady called it rewarding. At the end of his press conference, he turned philosophical, saying, "You don't ever want to take things for granted, in football and in life. That's our lesson for the day."
4. Brady was asked if he has followed and appreciated what the other professional teams in Boston have accomplished over the last decade. "Yeah, I certainly did. I spent a lot of nights at Fenway Park, been to a lot of games at the Garden, I was in Los Angeles when the Celtics won it two years ago. It's a great city, a great place to be in. We get so much support and I think all the players are very grateful for that. Jacksonville, for example, when you watch their game film, they pan the crowd and it's like a quarter full. We've never had to experience that in my time here. It's nice to be able to run out in front of a sellout crowd, the amount of media attention we get, I think we all really appreciate that."
