FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Quarterback Tom Brady and receiver Randy Moss were not present at the start of Wednesday's practice inside the Dana-Farber Field House.
It has been commonplace of late for Moss to be given Wednesday's practice off for non-injury related reasons. Brady has been on the injury report with rib/right finger/right shoulder ailments.
With Brady not at practice, it once again puts rookie Brian Hoyer in position to lead the offense.
"It's been a great opportunity for me, an opportunity to go out and run the offense, run the show, run the ins and outs -- breaking the huddle, getting the call in the huddle. It's not even the play so much, but just kind of going in there and trying to earn some respect from some of these older guys," Hoyer said last week.
"I'd be the first one to admit that I could have done a lot better. I should have done a lot better. But it's part of the learning process. To actually get in there and run some reps of our offense, which I really haven't been able to do a lot since training camp -- in that one week [Brady was out completely Wednesday and Thursday] I feel like I improved so much by just being out and doing stuff with our offense."
