As the Patriots prepare for their playoff opener against the Ravens, they had full practice participation Wednesday from all players on their 53-man roster except for offensive lineman Dan Connolly (ankle).
Connolly, a four-year veteran, has most recently carved out his niche as the team's power fullback. He had one of the key blocks on Sammy Morris's 55-yard run against the Jaguars.
If Connolly is unavailable for Sunday's game, the Patriots could turn to a more traditional fullback like BenJarvus Green-Ellis or even Morris. Or they could look to someone like rookie offensive lineman Rich Ohrnberger as a possibility in a bigger package.
Connolly also plays on the kickoff return team, as part of the wedge, so that role would need to be filled as well.
Elsewhere on the injury front, defensive linemen Vince Wilfork (foot) and Ty Warren (ankle) took positive steps in their likely return to action as they took part in the full practice Wednesday.
