With the calendar turned to February, the Patriots are expected to begin contacting agents who represent their free-agents-to-be and explore the possibility of extensions before the start of free agency March 5.

Running back Kevin Faulk, who plans to play a 12th season in 2010, is one free agent on the radar. "His intention is to remain a Patriot," Faulk's agent, Raymond Brothers, said on Monday.

Yet Brothers said that there have been no substantial talks at this point.

That should change in the coming weeks and will be something we'll be monitoring here.
