On Twitter, "Quotesfromthe6" made an interesting point when writing: "McNabb to Oakland could drastically alter Seymour trade assessment."

My first reaction was "Wish I thought of that." Then I realized that Tom Curran of Comcast SportsNet already had too.

So I'm quite late to the gridiron on this one, but I wanted to pass it along here.

The Patriots own the Raiders' 2011 first-round draft choice, which based on where they've picked the last five years, projects to be in the top 10. Consider that since 2006, the Raiders have had the following first-round picks: 7, 1, 4, 7 and 8.

If the Raiders add McNabb, how much better would they be? One would think his presence alone, assuming he's on board with a possible deal, would help the Raiders improve on last season's win total of five. He's an upgrade over JaMarcus Russell and Bruce Gradkowski.

This is one reason to keep close tabs on the McNabb situation. It could have a trickle-down effect on the Patriots.
