Free-agent receiver Rod Owens, an undrafted rookie who was waived by the St. Louis Rams last week, worked out for the Patriots this morning.
Christopher Price of WEEI.com reported on the workout earlier today. A source close to Owens confirmed the news to ESPNBoston.com.
Owens (5-11, 177) played at Florida State, leading the Seminoles with 61 receptions for 729 yards and 3 touchdowns last season. He ran into trouble off the field in college, which was detailed by ESPN's Heather Dinich.
The Patriots are stocked at receiver and a player like Owens would be a longshot for a roster spot.
