FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The Patriots are planning to start veteran Sammy Morris at running back -- not Laurence Maroney as was expected -- "The Sports Hub" 98.5 reported on its pregame show tonight.
In terms of Maroney's place on the depth chart, this could be viewed as a bad sign for him, as he didn't play last week and was on the field for 12 snaps in the preseason opener.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis started in the opener and Fred Taylor got the bulk of the early work last week.
