Quick hits from Bill Belichick’s morning press conference with reporters at Gillette Stadium:

Coaches introduced game-plan Sunday; preparations increase today. Belichick opened by talking about the Bengals, saying he introduced the players to Bengals-specific information Sunday, but will really increase the workload on Cincinnati today. Belichick talked about all the information and unknowns that goes into planning for the opener.

Getting a feel for new safety Jarrad Page. “He’s played in the league, we played against him, he’s been a productive player. I’m glad we got him. I think he’ll be a good addition to the group. I think he’ll help us. It looks like he’s been able to do some different things in the past and we’ll see how all that fits in with us.”

Explaining the Derrick Burgess cut. “We had to reduce our roster and we kept the players that are best for our team going forward. That’s pretty much what it comes down to. Derrick came in, worked hard, got off to a late start this year, we just went with different players.”

Would he consider a Jets-like move to reach out to Logan Mankins? When it comes to Mankins’ contract standoff, Belichick was asked if he would consider doing something similar to Jets coach Rex Ryan, who flew to meet with Revis as part of courting him to return to New York. “I’m really not familiar with all that. I don’t know what everybody else does,” Belichick said. “I’m going to coach the team, do the best I can for our team here. That’s what I’ll do.”

Shawn Crable healthy after passing physical. Belichick said Crable, who was one of four announced signings on the practice squad, will be on the field today after passing his physical. “Shawn hasn’t had a whole lot of opportunity to play since he’s been here,” Belichick said. “As he gets a little more experience and plays more, we’ll see how he does.”
