Former Patriots find new homes

Two former Patriots have landed with new teams.

Cornerback Terrence Wheatley, a 2008 second-round draft choice who was waived on Saturday, has signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars on their 53-man roster.

Linebacker Tyrone McKenzie, a 2009 third-round draft choice who spent the first nine weeks of the season on the practice squad and was released Saturday, has signed with the Buccaneers' practice squad.

Wheatley had cleared waivers on Monday, which opened the possibility he could have returned to the Patriots on the eight-man practice squad. But the Jaguars stepped in and signed him to their active roster.

McKenzie had previously declined an opportunity to join a team's 53-man roster, as he carefully weighed his options in search of what he felt was the right fit. McKenzie attended the University of South Florida, which is located in Tampa, so this is a homecoming of sorts for him.
