CB Turner signed to practice squad

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The Patriots filled the final spot on their eight-man practice squad by signing cornerback Thad Turner on Wednesday.

Turner (5-11, 188 pounds) was originally signed by the Colts as a rookie free agent out of Ohio, where he was a teammate of Patriots third-round draft choice Taylor Price. He was waived by the Colts on Aug. 12.

Turner was a two-year starter at Ohio, beginning his career as a receiver before switching to cornerback as a sophomore. As a senior, he had 60 tackles, 34 solo, six passes defensed and one interception.

The Patriots had an open practice squad spot after releasing linebacker Tyrone McKenzie on Saturday.
