Next-level stats: Patriots-Colts

Brady still strong in 2-TE sets

Tom Brady has attempted 197 passes this season with two or more tight ends on the field, the highest number in the NFL. On Sunday, Brady showed how comfortable he is with that personnel, posting his second-highest completion percentage of the season (91.7 pct, Week 4 at Miami).

Manning struggles toward right sideline

Peyton Manning was strong Sunday, except throwing toward the right sideline. Patriots safety James Sanders sealed the victory by intercepting Manning’s last pass of the game intended for Pierre Garcon down the right sideline.

Patriots bite on Manning's play-action fakes

The Colts had enough of a running game Sunday against the Patriots to allow Peyton Manning to effectively use play-action passes. Manning matched his season total in touchdowns from play-action passes.

Patriots get results up the middle

Patriots running backs had success pounding the ball up the middle on Sunday, posting their highest total rushing yards (114) in a game all season. It was more of the same for the Colts, who entered the game with the third-highest yards per rush against up the middle this season (4.6).

Colts defense keeps it basic

The Colts defense rushed a defensive back on just one dropback the entire game, bringing their season total to 15 dropbacks with secondary pressure, the lowest total in the NFL.
