Jets coach Rex Ryan said that he thinks his team will win the Super Bowl. Patriots coach Bill Belichick is taking a different approach.
"When we left here last night, we were 14-2. I think this morning we're 0-0," Belichick said as he opened a conference call with reporters.
Belichick explained how the team will approach its bye week.
"We don't know who the next game is, but we know whoever it is will be a team that wins this coming weekend, which means they will be a very good team to win to win in the wild-card round of the playoffs," Belichick said. "I think right now, the most important thing for us is to try to improve in our own performance and preparation, doing things we can do to help ourselves. Then, once we find out who we are going to play, we'll be a little more specific."
Belichick said the Patriots will be making a roster move later today to create room on the roster for linebacker Brandon Spikes, who returns from his four-game suspension.
As for the condition of running back Danny Woodhead, Belichick was asked if the head injury which knocked him out of Sunday's game could keep him out of the playoffs.
"Like we always do, we'll bring the players in -- they'll be in on Wednesday -- and we'll go from there," he said.
