Free-agent defensive lineman Marcus Stroud's contract with the Patriots is a two-year pact that includes a $150,000 signing bonus. The deal includes a $1.2 million base salary in 2011, and a $1.7 million base salary in 2012.
In 2011, Stroud can earn an additional $450,000 in bonuses (roster, reporting, workout), and an additional $50,000 in incentives.
In 2012, Stroud has a $100,000 workout bonus.
This looks like a low-risk type of deal from a Patriots perspective given the modest signing bonus.
