The Patriots announced the hiring of Moses Cabrera as their assistant strength and conditioning coach today. Cabrera will work alongside first-year head strength and conditioning coach Harold Nash, who was promoted following Mike Woicik's departure to the Cowboys this offseason.

Cabrera has spent the last 10 years in the college ranks. From 2004-2009, he was an assistant strength coach at Fresno State. Bill Belichick has ties to Fresno State head coach Pat Hill, who was a former assistant on Belichick's Cleveland Browns staff in the 1990s, so perhaps that had something to do with the Patriots' connection to Cabrera.

Cabrera is a graduate of Oral Roberts University. He most recently was serving as an assistant strength coach at the University of Colorado. Previously, he had held graduate assistant positions at Oral Roberts and the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
