The Pro Football Writers of America votes on awards each year, and there are candidates with Patriots ties in numerous categories this year. Members of the PFWA will be voting over the next two weeks.
Good Guy Award (Awarded to the player who best helped the media do its job)

Halas Award (For the individual who overcame the most adversity to succeed last season)
Mike Heimerdinger, E.J. Henderson, Michael Vick, Wes Welker, Leon Washington
Horrigan Award (For the person who helped media best do its job last season)
George Atallah, John Mara, Mike Mayock, Rex Ryan, Michael Signora
McCann Award (For long and distinguished service to the profession)
Vic Carucci, Vinny DiTrani, Ron Hobson, D. Orlando Ledbetter, Bob McGinn
Rozelle Award (For the public relations staff that best helped the media do its job)
Falcons, Ravens, Patriots, Jets, 49ers
Hobson started covering the Patriots full-time for the Quincy Patriot-Ledger in the middle of the 1961 season and recently retired. He was a regular on sports radio WEEI during football seasons.
