Patriots defensive lineman Vince Wilfork is holding his eighth-annual draft party tonight, with proceeds to benefit diabetes research and awareness. The party is at Pinz in Milford, Mass and starts at 7:30 p.m.
"This is something very, very close to me, because of my family and what I've been through as a kid growing up with my father," Wilfork said this week.
Wilfork annually has teammates join him at the party, and joked that he's usually surprised by what the Patriots do during the draft. He sees the team possibly approaching things differently this year.
"We always go with best player available in the past, but with this year free agency all screwed up and everything, I think we have to draft for needs," Wilfork said. "We need somebody that can come in and help us right away. With that being said, there are a couple things that I think can help us as a ballclub, especially as a defense, a couple positions I think we can go attack and try to get in the draft."
