FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Patriots head coach Bill Belichick had the following comment on the recent tornado outbreak in Alabama and surrounding areas during his news conference following the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

"I just wanted to take this time [that] to Nick [Saban] and certainly all those other people down in Alabama who have been great to us and been good friends, and people who I care a lot about, and certainly we have connections to the team down there with some of our players and former players, we send out our heartfelt best wishes to whatever they experienced down there. I can imagine how devastating that was. Their facility was only a block or a few hundred yards away from being torn apart too. It's a tough situation and I just hope that everything just came out as good as it could for them. We already know a couple people that were involved as a part of that devastation, so we'll try to reach out to them, give some assistance if we can."
