FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The Patriots have selected Texas Christian cornerback/safety Malcolm Williams with their seventh-round selection (219th overall).

Williams, 5-foot-10, 204 pounds, had 10 special teams tackles last season, while totaling 12 tackles in 13 games played, all as a reserve.

In 2009, Williams had 10 total tackles, six coming on special teams, while contributing on defense as a safety in 13 games played.

After being recruited by Oklahoma out of South Grand Prairie (TX) High School, Williams attended Trinity Valley Community College for academic reasons. As a sophomore, he placed second in the nation with five interceptions.
