CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Second-year receiver Taylor Price is among the 40 or so Patriots participating in informal workouts at Boston College this week. At one point Thursday, he lined up alongside Brandon Tate and Darnell Jenkins in a three-receiver set and caught a pass in 7 on 7 work.
Price's development could be an important storyline for a receiving corps that returns completely intact in 2011. The Patriots did not select a receiver in the 2011 draft, which highlights how Price -- a 2010 third-round pick who appeared in just one game as a rookie -- is still in their plans.
In a piece now posted on ESPNBoston.com, Price details how he's worked hard this offseason to get faster and leaner, putting himself in position to emerge.
"I've been working out, my mind is on football, and I really want to step on the field and be a player," he said. "I'm hungry."
