Setting the scene at Gillette

7/26/2011

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- With the NFL lockout over and Tuesday marking the first day players were allowed into team facilities since early March, nearly 50 media members were perched in a balcony above the parking lot to catch a glimpse of the returning players.

Despite 10 a.m. being the official time for the facility doors to open to players, early-arrivals were not turned away from the building, according to the team.

Players spotted either entering or leaving Gillette Stadium after 10 a.m., or confirmed to be in the facility, included quarterbacks Brian Hoyer and Jonathan Crompton; running back Danny Woodhead; wide receivers Deion Branch, Darnell Jenkins, Julian Edelman and Taylor Price; tight end Rob Gronkowski; offensive linemen Ryan Wendell, Dan Connolly, and Rich Ohrnberger; linebackers Dane Fletcher and Rob Ninkovich; and defensive backs Josh Barrett, Patrick Chung, and Thad Turner.

Tuesday's activities were essentially a one-day voluntary offseason program, and players were limited to physicals and strength and conditioning workouts. Wednesday will mark the mandatory reporting date for training camp.

Quarterback Tom Brady is also expected to be at Gillette Stadium on Tuesday.
