The biggest news from a Patriots perspective Wednesday was offensive lineman Logan Mankins accepting terms of the franchise tag and reporting for the start of training camp.
This was one of the top items on the team's "to-do" list and now leads to another question: Might the sides reach a long-term agreement?
The topic was explored in a story posted on ESPNBoston.com, presenting reasons why both sides would benefit from an extension. In short, the Patriots could earn some salary-cap relief, while Mankins would get more long-term security.
What do you think will happen with Mankins and the Patriots?
