One of the first questions that surfaced after the Patriots agreed to terms with Sammy Morris on a one-year deal is how it might affect Kevin Faulk's return for training camp.
It shouldn't, if the Patriots want Faulk back.
Faulk and Morris both qualify as part of the $3 million salary cap credits that teams can use in the new labor agreement. Teams can designate up to three players who have at least five accrued seasons, and receive a $1 million credit on each of them (the credit is eventually accounted for on the cap in future years).
So it's possible for the Patriots to bring both players back and not have them count against the $120 million cap.
