FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Kicker Stephen Gostkowski, who is coming back from a torn right quad muscle that cost him half the 2010 season, had a strong pre-game warmup.

He was perfect on all seven attempts to the south end zone, with a long of 53 yards. The 53-yarder probably would have been good from 58-60 yards.

Gostkowski was also perfect on all six attempts to the north end zone, with a long of 53. The 53-yarder could have been good from about 55.

All in all, it looks like Gostkowski -- the right-footed kicker -- is coming along nicely from his surgery last year. He projects to handle the field-goal kicking tonight, while UMass product Chris Koepplin has been handling kickoffs in camp.
