In what's become an August ritual, rocker Jon Bon Jovi dropped in on a Patriots' practice Wednesday at Gillette Stadium.

Marking at least his third consecutive August visit, Bon Jovi -- fresh off the European leg of his band's 2011 summer tour -- was spotted on the field with good friend and Patriots coach Bill Belichick before the team's afternoon session. Belichick has often professed his love for Bon Jovi's music -- it can often be heard blaring before practices and games -- while Bon Jovi is a monster football fan. The New Jersey rocker previously held an ownership stake in the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League and, in February, rumors swirled about Bon Jovi's potential interest in buying a share of the NFL's Atlanta Falcons.

"Since helping to establish the Philadelphia Soul Arena Football team -- from its inception through our 2008 championship season -- I have always made clear my desire to someday enter the NFL," Bon Jovi said as part of a statement in February acknowledging his talks about an ownership stake with the Falcons.
