FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Taking a look at the players who were part of all four, three, or two of the "big four" special teams units -- kickoff coverage, kick return, punt coverage, and punt return -- and Thursday night's preseason finale against the Giants.

While this provides a good sense of who the 'core' special teams players may be for the team, it is important to note that running back Sammy Morris, who was part of all four of the units in the last preseason game in Detroit, appeared to sustain a concussion early in the game, before all the units saw the field. In addition, cornerback Kyle Arrington and linebacker Niko Koutouvides, who were part of special teams units early in the game, also appeared to sustain injuries before all the units had a chance to see the field.
