Roster shuffle: 29 moves in 21 days

It's been a busy couple weeks for Nick Caserio and the personnel department.BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Since initially trimming their roster to the league-mandated 53 players on Sept. 3, the New England Patriots have made a total of 29 roster moves (ignoring the initial signing of their eight-man practice squad on Sept. 5) involving 18 different players. New England has made at least one official move on 11 of the 21 days since that final cutdown. Ten of those moves came since Wednesday as the injury bug-bitten Patriots have rearranged their roster in advance of Sunday's battle with the Bills.

Here's a look back at all those transactions since the roster was initially set at 53 players:

Sept. 4 - Signed OL Brian Waters and LS Danny Aiken; Released LS James Dearth and OT Steve Maneri.

Sept. 5 - Signed eight members to practice squad (LB Markell Carter, RB Eric Kettani, OL Matt Kopa, DE Aaron Lavarias, OL Nick McDonald, WR Kerry Taylor, S Ross Ventrone and OL Thomas Welch).

Sept. 7 - Signed LB A.J. Edds and TE Dan Gronkowski; Released CB Darius Butler and DT Gerard Warren.

Sept. 12 - Promoted OL Thomas Welch; Released LB Jeff Tarpinian.

Sept. 14 - Signed OL Donald Thomas; Released Welch. Signed TE Garrett Mills, Tarpinian to practice squad; Released Lavarias from practice squad.

Sept. 15 - Signed Welch to practice squad; Released McDonald from practice squad.

Sept. 16 - Signed McDonald to practice squad; Released Taylor from practice squad.

Sept. 21 - Placed DL Myron Pryor and C Dan Koppen on injured reserve; Signed DB Phillip Adams and DL Landon Cohen.

Sept. 22 - Promoted Tarpinian; Released Edds; Signed CB Josh Victorian to practice squad.

Sept. 23 - Released Gronkowski.

Sept. 24 - Promoted Ventrone; Signed Edds to practice squad.
