Mayo limited in Wednesday's practice

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo was one of seven players limited during New England's practice session Wednesday at Gillette Stadium.

Mayo remains limited as he works his way back from a knee injury sustained in a Week 4 win in Oakland. On the more encouraging side, safety Sergio Brown, wide receiver Julian Edelman, tight end Aaron Hernandez, defensive lineman Kyle Love, wide receiver Matthew Slater, and running back Danny Woodhead have all been removed from the last injury report after all endured limited participation leading up to a Week 6 win over the Cowboys.

Here's a look at the first participation report for Week 8:

Did not participate: LB Dane Fletcher (thumb)

Limited participation: S Josh Barrett (thumb), CB Leigh Bodden (thumb), CB Ras-I Dowling (hip), RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis (toe), DL Albert Haynesworth (back), LB Jerod Mayo (knee), OT Sebastian Vollmer (back)

For the Steelers, linebackers Jason Worilds (quadricep) and James Harrison (eye), offensive linemen Chris Hoke (neck) and Doug Legursky (toe), and wide receiver Hines Ward (ankle) did not participate; Linebacker James Farrior (calf) had limited participation.
