Deion Branch celebrates his touchdown Sunday.EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- With the Meadowlands crowd silenced, you could almost hear Deion Branch's fourth-quarter touchdown celebration throughout the stadium:
P-A-T-S ... PATS ... PATS ... PATS.
Mocking Jets fan/cheerleader Fireman Ed's iconic "J-E-T-S" chant, Branch offered a version of his own toward the New York faithful following his 8-yard touchdown grab, which gave the Patriots a 30-16 lead.
After the game, Branch was coy about the celebration, chuckling and responding with a "what did it look like?" when a reporter asked about the end zone routine.
"It was impromptu, it just happened," Branch joked. "I just looked over and saw him."
Though the Patriots and Jets are bitter divisional rivals, Branch considered the celebration a sign of respect to the 79,088 in attendance.
"I just truly enjoy coming here and playing. The fans are very enthusiastic. They make you want to play here," Branch said. "It's just good for football, playing in New York, playing against the Jets. It's just all for fun. I just enjoy having fun on the football field."
