Quick hits from locker room

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Quick hits from the media-access period in the Patriots' locker room this morning:

1. After a busy Wednesday session, it was a quiet Thursday in the locker room. Players drawing large media crowds were wide receiver Deion Branch, running back Kevin Faulk, and safety Sterling Moore.

2. Safety Ross Ventrone was back in the locker room, meaning that he has likely been re-signed to the team's practice squad after clearing waivers on Wednesday. It appears as if cornerback Josh Victorian will be the odd man out on the practice squad to facilitate Ventrone's return; he was the only player on the eight-man practice squad not spotted on Thursday.

3. Some movement from the locker stall front, with offensive lineman Donald Thomas having his locker moved across the room into Thomas Welch's old home. Welch signed with the Bills' practice squad today. For those wondering, Thomas' growing collection of rubber ducks (planted by teammates) had a successful migration, and are still featured prominently on Thomas' locker shelf.
