A few follow-up thoughts on the roster moves (DB Sterling Moore and DE Alex Silvestro promoted off the practice squad and S Vincent Fuller released):
1. If healthy, it wouldn't be a surprise to learn that S Vincent Fuller could be back at some point. But this looks like a move where the Patriots needed someone for the game, and they felt Fuller, with just a few days of practice in which he was limited with a forearm injury, wasn't ready. So they go with in the in-house promotion of defensive back Sterling Moore. The safety play was a concern last week -- Matthew Slater started and was pulled on the first play of the second series -- and this move seems related to that.
2. Promoting Alex Silvestro over Markell Carter registers as a surprise from this perspective. Looks like a case where the coaching staff feels Silvestro, who played at a higher level of competition in college (Rutgers) than Carter (Central Arkansas), is more game-ready to help fill the Andre Carter void in some form.
3. With two open spots on the practice squad, rookie Malcolm Williams -- the seventh-round draft choice out of TCU -- is a strong candidate to return.
