Another week, another roster move with safety Ross Ventrone.
The Patriots announced Monday that Ventrone has been released. This has been a year of bouncing back and forth between the roster and practice squad for Ventrone, and if he clears waivers, he'll likely land back on the practice squad.
Ventrone played on three of the "Big 4" special teams units in Saturday's win over the Dolphins, and also was on the field for nine snaps on defense. The 25-year-old has played in eight games this season.
In addition to Ventrone, the Patriots announced the release of defensive lineman Cedric McKinley from the practice squad.
