FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Welcome to Gillette Stadium, where the Patriots host the Bills in the regular-season finale (1 p.m. ET):

Weather conditions. Game-time temperature is expected to be in the low-40s with sunshine. It's not what one would expect for a Jan. 1 game in New England, but both teams -- and fans -- will certainly take it. Light winds and no precipitation expected.

No. 1 seed on the line. The Patriots earn the AFC's No. 1 seed with a victory today.

Leavy gets the call. Veteran Bill Leavy has been assigned to referee today's game.

Five more inactives to be announced. The Patriots have already ruled out guard Logan Mankins (knee) and offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer (foot/back) for today's game. The team will announce five more players who will be inactive about 90 minutes before the 1 p.m. kickoff.

Brady and 5,000 passing yards. Quarterback Tom Brady enters the day with 4,897 passing yards. He is in striking range of becoming the third quarterback in NFL history to reach 5,000 yards.

Scouts in the house. A reminder that it's almost playoff time -- the Ravens, Bengals, Steelers and Titans are scheduled to have scouts/personnel men at today's game.

Television information. Today's game will be broadcast on CBS, with Don Criqui (play by play) and Randy Cross (analysis) on the call.

Wilfork on GameDay cover. Defensive lineman Vince Wilfork is on the cover of the GameDay magazine being sold today at Gillette Stadium.

Moment of silence for Antwine. The Patriots plan to observe a moment of silence for Houston Antwine before today's game. For more on Antwine and his career with the Patriots, this article by Ron Borges of the Boston Herald is recommended (link here).

National anthem/color guard. Sarah Carter is scheduled to sing the national anthem. Colors presented by The Silver Dolphins Naval Submarine School.
