In a piece now posted on ESPN.com, Chris Sprow puts together a roster of the NFL's best bargains based on salary cap hits (link here, Insider content). There are three Patriots on the "team":

TE Rob Gronkowski ($853,000 cap charge)
G Brian Waters (contract of 2 years worth up to $5.5 million)
P Zoltan Mesko (cap charge of less than $500,000)

DEs Andre Carter and Mark Anderson, who became the first Patriots tandem to each total 10 or more sacks in a season since 1985, could have drawn consideration. Carter signed a one-year, $2.25 million deal, while Anderson was playing under a one-year, $1.375 million pact.

A few others who come to mind in the bargain category: TE Aaron Hernandez ($450,000 base salary), CB Kyle Arrington ($525,000 base salary), DL Kyle Love ($450,000 base salary) and WR Wes Welker ($2.15 million base salary).
