FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Here is the biggest takeaway from Bill Belichick's Tuesday news conference: There is no knocking him off focus.
It's all Denver Broncos.
Any question related to the Broncos -- such as the explosiveness of edge rushers Elvis Dumervil and Von Miller, how the presence of running back Willis McGahee makes them different (he didn't finish the Dec. 18 game vs. New England due to injury), and the big-play ability of Demaryius Thomas -- Belichick was happy to expound.
Anything else, he was turning it right back to the Broncos.
This is the type of focus Belichick demands from his players, and it was reflected when he was asked a big-picture question about the importance of defense in today's game, and that if a team needs a great defense to win a championship.
"I don't know, we're going to go out there and try to play the best defense we can Saturday night," Belichick responded. "That's what we're going to try to do. I don't really care about anything else. I'm just trying to prepare our team. That's really all we're talking about right now."
After about 10-15 minutes, Patriots media relations chief Stacey James called for a last question, and it was met with a long pause ... and no last question.
All the Broncos material had been covered.
